Karen Jacobs, Musician and Piano Teacher, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in musical performance and instruction.
Prior to her current career as a musician and music educator, Ms. Jacobs began her career as a senior laboratory technician and hospital laboratory supervisor for the City of Kingston Laboratories, where she worked from 1962 to 1968. She accepted a position as a senior research assistant at Dudley Observatory in 1972, and studied at Empire State College, earning a Bachelor of Science in applied technology in 1976. Ms. Jacobs transitioned to a position as a laboratory administrator at Albany Medical College and continued her academic pursuits at Russell Sage College, graduating with a Master of Science in public service administration in 1982. Following her graduation, she continued working at Albany Medical College until 1999, when she became a piano teacher at the Albany Academy for Boys, a position she held until 2007.
In 2003, Ms. Jacobs became an office assistant in accounts and bookkeeping at Dievendorf & Co., simultaneously launching her career as a freelance musician and private piano teacher, which she continues to this day. From 2002 to 2010, she served as an accompanist to the Siena College Community Chorale, and since 2011, she has been a member of the music triad at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. As a testament to her success, experience, and stature, Ms. Jacobs has been featured in the sixth edition of Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, as well as multiple editions of Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America, Who’s Who of American Women, Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in the East, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, and Who’s Who in America.
