Anne Creery Savedge, Adjunct Faculty at John Tyler Community College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in art and art education.

Ms. Savedge has always been driven to create art. It isn’t just a hobby for her; it’s the key to her happiness.  Over the years, Ms. Savedge has participated in exhibitions all over the world, most recently at the Daegu Culture and Arts Center in Korea. She considers traveling and participating in art shows in places like Korea, China, and Brazil to be the highlight of her career, as it allowed her to make international connections and to experience new places. She is also proud of her impressive portfolio and unique creative process. Ms. Savedge strongly believes in the transformative power of a photograph; unlike other photographers, she seeks “what may be, not what is.” Before Photoshop, she would develop her photos in a darkroom and then physically alter them through painting and drawing. She felt that moving into Photoshop was a natural extension of this practice, and became a Certified Adobe Photoshop expert and instructor. She loves the blend of art and technology, and thus partnered with her husband, Edwin, to form Savedge Art & Technology.

Outside of her personal artistic journey, Ms. Savedge decided to focus attention on education. She cherishes the opportunity to share her passion with others, and has thus been an adjunct faculty member at John Tyler Community College since 2011 and an instructor at Chesterfield Technology Center since 1989. She previously held roles as an instructor at the Virginia Museum, adjunct faculty at the University of Richmond, and art instructor at Colonial Heights High School. Her professional designations include a Master of Arts in art education from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Science from James Madison University. She attributes her success to seizing every opportunity.
